| COURSE (Module) Description |
In this course, the final requirement in the Certificate Program, educators apply theoretical knowledge to practical situations by arranging to work, as a volunteer, in a literacy program. The placement will be supervised by the course facilitator and will rely on the development, by the course participant, of a detailed learning plan. |
| COURSE (Module) Outcome |
Upon completion of this module participants should be able to demonstrate, as a result of their placement activity, their ability to apply the knowledge acquired through course work to a real literacy setting. As a result of a successful demonstration, participants will be able to apply for and receive the Teacher of Adults: Literacy Educator Certificate. |

| ASSIGNMENTS & LEARNING ACTIVITIES | |
| To complete the Fieldwork Placement module
of the Certificate Program successfully you must create and submit
for appraisal a detailed training action plan (overall
learning goals, specific learning outcomes and process for self-evaluation).
You are also responsible for finding your own placement and making
the appropriate arrangements with the Host Agency or Program.
The placement must be 60 hours in duration except where the course
participant has 2 or more years of paid employment (verification
required) within the field of adult education. Your final grade
will be determined based upon the timely and satisfactory completion
of the following: 1. Your Training Action Plan 2. Interim Reports (First Quarter, Half-Time and Last Quarter) 3. Host Agency Evaluation 4. Your Final Report. |
